Intelligent processing is required for recent autonomous cars. For safety driving on public roads, autonomous cars must estimate self positon and detect obstacles at variety situations in real-time. However, these intelligent processing require huge computational resources. Therefore, parallel processing on hardware accelerators such as GPU and FPGA is required for real-time intelligent processing. In this paper, we introduce a computer system for the autonomous car which is based on robot middleware and discuss effectiveness of parallel processing on hardware accelerator by measuring the speed of processing. |
