| 内容記述 | Magnetometers are used in attitude determination and control systems in satellites. Magnetometers are sensors which collects the magnetic field data. CubeSats are a class of nano satellites. CubeSats have limitations in the design, such as power, mass, and volume. As a result of that, CubeSat magnetometers are not separated from other electrical circuits inside the satellite. The magnetic field created by the other electrical circuits can lead magnetometer to read incorrect magnetic field. Due to this reason, it is important to calibrate the magnetometer, simulating operating conditions while the satellite is running before the launch. But due to limited facilities in most academic laboratories, CubeSat developers are not able to calibrate the magnetometers properly in the ground. We focused on on-orbit magnetometer data observed by BIRDS-3 magnetometer data and KITSUNE. We observed a high oscillation in the total magnetic field were found in the on-orbit magnetic field data measured by magnetometers inside BIRDS-3 CubeSats and KITSUNE. In both projects we used three axis magnetometers. BIRDS-3 CubeSats were deployed to orbit on 17th June 2019. In BIRDS-3 case, nine unknows were identified. They are scaling factors, nonorthogonal angles, and offsets. We used model magnetic field as the true solution. KITSUNE was deployed to orbit on 24th of March 2022. Six unknowns were identified in the KITSUNE case: scaling factors and offsets. Genetic algorithms need a fitness function to find the best match for the unknowns. This study tries to investigate the reasons for the oscillations observed in the onorbit magnetometer data. Moreover, this research tries to verify the effectiveness of genetic algorithms to calibrate the magnetometer data. This study also shows interchangeability of the answers with additional orbit data from the same satellite to find the best match for the measured magnetic field. |
