| 内容記述 | Discussing the neo-Assyrian policies against ancient Palestine, this paper deals with various aspects: the coalition against Shalmaneser III, the motivation for the Assyrian military campaigns in the ninth century B.C.E., Assyrian policy change under Tiglath-pileser III, Tiglath-pileser III's campaign against Damascus and Samaria in 733-732 B.C.E., Assyrian rule over Philistia and Judah, mass deportation and its objectives. Sennacherib's campaign in Palestine is still open to discussion. We also overview Sennacherib 's expedition to Philistia and Judah including the conquest of Lachish. In the decline of the Assyrian power, ancient Palestine again gained its independence. | |||||
